Introduction
Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana is an important branch of Ayurveda that combines the study of Ayurvedic pharmaceutics, pharmacology, nutraceuticals, and medicinal formulations. It focuses on the preparation, quality control, and therapeutic application of Ayurvedic medicines.
The branch deals with the identification and selection of authentic raw materials, collection and processing of medicinal plants, purification of toxic substances, and preparation of herbal, herbo-mineral, and herbo-metallic formulations. It also provides knowledge about their therapeutic uses, dosage, methods of administration, dietary guidelines, and safety aspects.
Vision
- Attain perfection in pharmaceutical processing of Ayurvedic formulations with Standard Operative Procedures.
Mission
- Develop standard quality dosage forms of Ayurveda formulations without altering the basic concepts to achieve utmost therapeutical benefits.
Core Objectives
- To provide students with strong theoretical knowledge and practical skills in Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana throughout their academic program.
- To encourage the development, improvement, and scientific validation of classical Ayurvedic formulations using modern technologies while ensuring their safety and effectiveness.
